Here at A Couple Cooks, we’re obsessed with cocktails. Some of them have lots of fancy ingredients and techniques, but here’s a secret. There are lots of classic cocktails that are ultra simple and barely require thinking at all.

Here’s our list of the top 10 easy mixed drinks to make! After making hundreds of cocktail recipes, here’s the criteria for what makes an easy cocktail:

  • 2 to 3 ingredients: Two ingredient cocktails are ideal, three ingredients tops.
  • No weird ingredients: Gotta stick to the basics. (No absinthe or chartreuse allowed.)
  • Ideal if it’s mixed in the glass. Then you don’t have to dirty a cocktail shaker! A few of the cocktails below use a shaker or mixing glass, but only a few.
  • Must be able to make it in under 5 minutes. All of these are quick and simple: promise!

Description

One of the best easy mixed drinks of all time: the classic Moscow mule! It’s bold and bubbly, made right in the glass with vodka, lime and ginger beer.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces (1/4 cup) vodka
  • 1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) fresh lime juice
  • 4 ounces (1/2 cup) ginger beer
  • For the garnish: lime wheel or wedge, fresh mint (if desired)

Instructions

  1. In a copper mug or glass, pour in the vodka, lime juice, and ginger beer.
  2. Add ice and garnish with a lime slice. Serve immediately.
