Ingredients in this strawberry peach smoothie
This strawberry peach smoothie is fast and easy to whip up, and uses normal, everyday ingredients we stock in our refrigerator and freezer. As smoothie lovers, we always have a good assortment of frozen fruit for blending up purees! Here’s what you’ll need to blend together for this easy smoothie recipe:
- Frozen strawberries: Frozen berries make a thick, icy texture here. You can also use fresh ripe berries, but if so swap in a frozen banana.
- Frozen peaches: Frozen peach slices also contribute to the texture! If desired, you can swap in canned or ripe peaches for an even sweeter, fruitier flavor; again, make sure to substitute a frozen banana.
- Banana: Room temperature banana makes this smoothie creamy and adds a little sweetness.
- Greek yogurt: Greek yogurt adds protein and creamy body to the smoothie, marrying all the flavors together. For a vegan smoothie, see the notes below.
- Orange juice: Use 100% juice to bring out a pop of brightness to the flavor.
- Milk: Use your milk of choice to blend this puree, using dairy or non-dairy, or substitute additional orange juice.
- Ice: Ice makes the best frothy texture to a smoothie.
- Vanilla extract: Vanilla is optional, but adds a nice nuance to the flavor.
Make it non-dairy
This strawberry peach smoothie is easy to make as a dairy-free puree. Simply omit the Greek yogurt and add more orange juice or non-dairy milk to taste. We prefer oat milk in smoothies, due to its creamy texture and neutral flavor. But your favorite non-dairy milk works!
Since Greek yogurt has so much protein, it’s helpful to add some additional plant-based protein if you’re looking for a filling smoothie that’s a meal replacement for lunch or a filling snack.
Protein adders for a strawberry peach smoothie
Greek yogurt is great for smoothies because it adds a good hit of protein (as does milk!). But if you want to up the ante with the protein, we’ve got some ideas. This is especially helpful if you’re planning to use this smoothie as a meal replacement. Here are a few ideas:
- Chia seeds. Add protein and fiber with chia seeds! 2 tablespoons chia seeds adds 4 grams protein and 11 grams fiber.
- Almond butter or cashew butter. 1 tablespoon nut butter adds 4 grams protein. This dulls the color and flavors a bit, but it still tastes good!
- Vanilla protein powder: This vanilla protein powder is the one we use; it has a good flavor that’s not too artificial. But in most cases, we prefer more natural options like chia seeds!
Variations on strawberry and peach smoothies
You can swap out the fruits in this strawberry peach smoothie to create all sorts of different combinations! Here are some favorite ideas:
- Mango: Use mango instead for Mango Peach Smoothie or Strawberry Mango Smoothie
- Banana: Up the banana flavor for Banana Peach Smoothie or Strawberry Banana Smoothie
- Other fruits: Go with other fruits for Strawberry Pineapple Smoothie, Strawberry Watermelon Smoothie or Strawberry Blueberry Smoothie
- Cocoa powder: Opt for chocolate with Chocolate Strawberry Smoothie or Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
This strawberry peach smoothie recipe is…
Vegetarian and gluten-free. For vegan, plant-based, and dairy-free, substitute non-dairy milk for the Greek yogurt.
