These summer vodka cocktails are fruity, bubbly, and refreshing. From two-ingredient highballs to garden-fresh sippers, here are my go-to vodka drinks for the season!

Summer is the best season for cocktails in my opinion, because there are so many ways to enjoy those fruity, herby, bubbly and icy flavors and textures. Make up a tall highball with sparkling water or ginger ale, grab handfuls of fresh mint from the garden, and blend up ripe fruits like watermelon and strawberries. Summer is all about laid back, seasonal drinks, and what better spirit to pair than vodka?

As a cocktail expert, I’ve rounded up all my best summer vodka drinks! These vodka cocktails for summer range from classics like the Moscow Mule to freeform highballs like the Vodka Spritzer, Vodka Soda and Vodka Tonic.

Why Vodka Is the Perfect Summer Base

Vodka has a neutral flavor, which is great for summer drinks! A bottle of vodka plus a few mixers makes many variations: soda or tonic water for something laid back, ginger beer for spicy bubbles, cranberry or pineapple juice for color, and a bottle of simple syrup to round out the sweetness.

Then grab your favorite summery ingredients: muddled fresh mint or basil, strawberries, pineapple, watermelon, peaches, or blueberries.

PS I also love rum and bourbon for summer: try my top summer rum cocktails and summer bourbon cocktails.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best thing to mix with vodka in summer?

Bubbly mixers are great, like club soda, tonic water, ginger beer, and fresh juices like cranberry, pineapple, or grapefruit. Add fresh citrus and a little simple syrup and you can make so many summer vodka cocktails.

What summer vodka cocktails use only two ingredients?

A Vodka Soda or Vodka and Ginger Ale are super easy, or try a Vodka Cranberry or Vodka Tonic.

What is the most popular vodka cocktail?

The Moscow Mule is always a favorite and probably the most popular (it’s so easy!). In summer the Vodka Soda and this Watermelon Vodka Cocktail get the most play in my kitchen.
