What makes it great? No blender, pantry ingredients

Some tahini dressing recipes require a blender, which is often the last thing I want to pull out when the kitchen is already a mess! Many tahini dressing recipes also require lemon: which is wonderful flavor-wise, but sometimes we run out of fresh lemons. This recipe is so easy because you can make it with all pantry ingredients!

How long can you store homemade tahini dressing? Well, tahini itself lasts up to 6 months refrigerated. So technically you could store this dressing for that long. However, we recommend that you store it in a covered jar for up to 1 month.

Here’s an important tip: bring it to room temperature before serving. You can also add a splash of water if it needs thinning out!

What is tahini, anyway?

Tahini is a paste made of sesame seeds. It’s typically used in Middle Eastern or Mediterranean-style dishes. Since it’s simply made of sesame seeds and salt, tahini is vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, Paleo, keto, and Whole 30 friendly. It’s perfect for making tahini salad dressings, creamy sauces for sandwiches, desserts like cookies and cakes. It’s also great as a replacement for peanut butter for peanut allergies. I made this a couple of weeks ago when a friend asked me to bring a dressing for salad. And I made it exactly as the recipe is written. It was delicious!!! My friend gladly kept what we hadn’t used and asked for the recipe. I’ve already made another batch. And more tahini. Thanks for sharing this.

      So glad you enjoy it!

  4. Kathy Vetro says:

Made this today to use up the little over 1/2cup of tahini I had left in a jar along with other leftover stuff. Excellent flavor. I added fresh grated garlic instead of garlic powder and an extra teaspoon of ginger and used Sherry Vinegar (literally had a little over 2 tsp left). So good! I love recipes like this you really can’t screw up.
