Here at A Couple Cooks, our philosophy on eating healthy is eating as many whole, real foods as possible. It’s also cutting back on sugars, especially in drinks!

When we met as college sweethearts, Alex was drinking his weight in Mountain Dew. Since that time, we’ve done a 180 in the way we look at the way we eat and drink. We’ve found that one of the best ways to start eating real food (and potentially lose weight in the process) is to stop drinking soft drinks.

Drink recipes that are just sweet enough!

For us, drinks are the perfect accessory to a good meal. But they don’t have to be packed with sugar to be delicious. In our drink recipes, we try to add only enough sugar to make the flavor pop.

Many times, we use natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup. While these sweeteners still contain sugar, they’re more natural than their refined sugar counterpart.

Our philosophy on drinks makes for some seriously delicious cocktails! Our Whiskey Sour is a staple in our family. And our Best Frosé (Frozen Rosé) gets rave reviews. 

Non-alcoholic drinks are just as fun!

Cutting back on soft drinks can be hard, so we’ve also created some dressed up water recipes. With a very low calorie count, they’re still satisfying and can fill a soda craving.
