Try these Christmas cocktails with vodka, from festive peppermint martinis to cranberry mules. These holiday vodka drinks are perfect for parties!

When it comes to entertaining, vodka is one of the most versatile spirits around. So it’s no surprise that some of the most crowd-pleasing holiday drinks are Christmas cocktails with vodka!
I’ve tested countless Christmas cocktails over the years, and vodka is consistently a winner with almost everyone. Because its flavor is neutral, it play well with the bold flavors of the season, like peppermint, cranberry, pomegranate, and pear. I’ve put together a list of my favorite Christmas vodka cocktails, from Christmas-themed martinis to Moscow mules.
My top Christmas cocktails with vodka
Need a Christmas cocktail that’s quick and easy? My spin on the classic Moscow mule is a festive combination of cranberry juice, vodka, peppermint schnaps and ginger beer. It’s so simple you can build it right in the glass, no cocktail shakers required! It's a holiday drink that's great for parties.
Here’s a delightful signature vodka Christmas cocktail that tastes like a liquid candy cane: the Peppermint Martini! This drink is creamy and minty fresh, a delicious combination of peppermint schnapps and chocolate liqueur. Cozy up with one by the fire, or drink it as a fun Christmas cocktail with appetizers.
This Christmas martini is sweet tart, drinkable and beautifully festive! Turns out, a martini is the perfect fit for entertaining. It’s easy to mix up and the color is beautifully brilliant from the cranberry juice.
This festive Christmas drink is just sweet enough and packed with cozy cinnamon, allspice and ginger from homemade gingerbread syrup. It tastes like a cookie, but even better: with a little intrigue on the finish. It’s only 3 ingredients and looks beautifully festive for holiday entertaining.
This sweet and creamy spin on the classic might be even more fun than the original. The Peppermint White Russian has a bright, minty finish that melds into the Kahlua and cream perfectly. It’s fast and easy to swirl together in a lowball glass, and it’s a total crowd pleaser.
Here’s a Christmas spin on a classic cocktail that I think might be even better than the original! This sweet tart drink pairs pomegranate, vodka, and orange liqueur in a symphony of flavor. You can use bottled pomegranate juice from the store, or make your own using the seeds from the fresh fruit.
Here’s a festive cocktail that’s perfect for Christmas: the Apple Cider Mule! Everyone loves a classic Moscow Mule, and this seasonal spin is even more fun. It pairs apples and ginger in a bubbly, effervescent mix that looks perfectly cozy nestled in a copper mug.
This vodka Christmas cocktail is so fruity and sweet, it's like drinking candy. The Cranberry Elderflower Cocktail is a tasty blend of vodka, cranberry and St Germain. St Germain is a liqueur made with elderflowers, with a warm floral flavor. It pairs just perfectly here, making a tasty signature drink.
This unique vodka cocktail works for Christmas when pears are in season! Pear comes in two waves: a muddled fresh pear brings brightness, and pear vodka infuses a strong fruity aroma. Paired with fresh lemon juice and simple syrup, it's a delicious holiday drink.
Last up in my favorite Christmas cocktails with vodka: the Pomegranate Martini! Crisp, sweet tart, fruity, and light: it’s much closer to a Cosmo than the classic martini. Instead of cranberry juice like the Cosmopolitan, it’s made with pomegranate. Serve it up in a martini glass and you’ve got a sophisticated cocktail that’s refreshing and easy to drink.
Serving Suggestions for Holiday Parties
For parties, I pre-mix the ingredients in batches for cocktails like the Christmas Martini or Pomegranate Cosmo. This lets me quickly serve multiple guests without individual measuring.
Just remember to add ice and any bubbly components (like ginger beer) fresh for each serving to maintain proper dilution and carbonation.
Making Non-Alcoholic Versions
Most of these cocktails adapt easily to mocktails. Simply replace the vodka with sparkling water or lemon-lime soda, keeping all the other ingredients the same.
The Christmas Mule works particularly well as a mocktail: the ginger beer and cranberry juice provide plenty of flavor without alcohol.

Storage and Make-Ahead Tips
Many components of these cocktails can be prepared in advance. Gingerbread syrup keeps for two weeks refrigerated, and simple syrup lasts a month. I often juice lemons the day before parties and store the juice in a sealed container.
The candy cane rim preparation for the Peppermint Martini can be completed hours before serving: just keep rimmed glasses in a cool, dry place.
