This blueberry lemonade with vodka is the best refreshing, fruity cocktail recipe! Make up a big pitcher for parties.
Here’s a tasty, sweet tart cocktail that’s perfect for summer sipping: Blueberry Vodka Lemonade! In warmer weather, we start craving flavors like blueberry and lemon. So why not combine them to make the ideal sweet tart drink? Make up a big pitcher of blueberry lemonade, then spike each drink with vodka. It’s so delightfully tangy and fruity, it’s hard to stop sipping! Here’s how to make this tasty drink.
What’s in blueberry vodka lemonade?
This blueberry vodka lemonade has two components: homemade blueberry lemonade and vodka. The lemonade is simple to whip up and makes a large pitcher. The nice thing about this recipe is that you can build the vodka lemonade in the glass, so you can have servings for kids and people who want to avoid alcohol, too! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Fresh squeezed lemon juice
- Granulated sugar
- Blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- Water
- Vodka
Tips for making blueberry vodka lemonade
The key to blueberry vodka lemonade is a high-quality homemade lemonade. This recipe makes a pitcher of 8 to 9 cups, which is 8 servings of vodka lemonade. It’s got just the right amount of sugar, but it’s not too sweet. Here’s what to do:
- Juice the lemons. This is the most time consuming part! How to juice lemons quickly? A citrus press juicer makes quick work of it: this is our preferred juicer.
- Blend and strain blueberries and sugar. Pull out your blender and whiz up blueberries, water and sugar, then press it through a fine mesh sieve to remove the blueberry skins.
- Add everything in a pitcher with water. Combine the lemon juice, blueberry mixture and water in a pitcher.
- Build the blueberry vodka lemonade in the glass. Pour 1 cup blueberry lemonade and ¼ cup vodka into each ice filled glass. Of course, if you like you can combine the vodka in the pitcher too.
Make ahead notes
Can you make this blueberry vodka lemonade ahead of time? Yes! Mix up the blueberry lemonade, then refrigerate it for up to 3 days before serving. (Technically it lasts even longer, but we like it when it’s as close to fresh as possible.)
We recommend keeping the vodka separate from the lemonade when you’re making it ahead. Then add the vodka in the glass when serving, or to the pitcher if you like.

I’m just curious, I just made this but it looks way darker than the picture on here 😅 still tastes amazing but I’m just wondering why it’s darker
If you use frozen blueberries, do you need to thaw them first? Or is the warm water enough to break them down.
The warm water should be enough to get them to blend! Thanks for the question.
