Our Recipes

Recipes that work: Our recipes are triple tested and work every time for home cooks of any skill level! After years working in the instructional design field, we take our professional knowledge of good design and user experience into our recipes.

Mostly plants: When we first learned how to cook, we came across Michael Pollan’s mantra “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.” This became our guiding principle for our diet. We don’t eat 100% vegetarian or vegan or plant based; instead we focus on celebrating vegetables and real food! So you’ll see the majority of our nearly 1,000 recipes are easy vegetarian dinner recipes or vegan dinner recipes made with wholesome, unprocessed ingredients. We do occasionally eat sustainable seafood recipes and sustainable meat recipes, so you’ll see a few of those here as well. Indulging in moderation is key in our approach to diet, so you’ll also find healthy desserts that taste indulgent.

Adventure inspired: So many people ask us, how do you come up with ideas for your recipes? The recipes we create are based on seasonal produce where we live in Indianapolis, Indiana. But many of our ideas come from traveling the globe, from California to Alaska to Santorini to Rome. We love adventuring to new places and taking back concepts for recipes that can be made in our Midwest kitchen.

Joy of cooking & gathering: Every single recipe we create is centered around one thing: love. Learning to love the kitchen and cooking is why we do what we do. After getting married and teaching ourselves to cook, we’ve found that cooking is all about creativity, joy, and gathering together with people you love. It can even be easy and fun!
