Alex creates the drink recipes in our household (basically all the beverages). So it’s no surprise this sparkling blood orange rosemary water was invented by him! Alex devised this rosemary water as a drink for our vegetarian brunch menu. Blood orange juice has the most beautiful electric pink hue, which made it look stunning next to the other brunch items. It could also work as a sort of mocktail. Sparkling water recipes are our favorite for making drinks delicious without adding lots of calories or sugar. How to make rosemary water

This rosemary water has subtle flavors and an understated, refreshing flavor. Feel free to add more blood orange juice or honey if you’re looking for a more intense flavor. To make our sparkling water, we used our SodaStream (which we’re obsessed with!) We bought it to make healthy alternatives soda pop, and we ended up falling in love with the refreshing bubbles — we usually mix the water with lemon or lime juice, or use it to make drinks like these. You can also use a plain or flavored canned sparkling water: just make sure that the flavor is complimentary and won’t clash with the blood orange and rosemary.

Vegetarian brunch menu

This blood orange rosemary water was created as the drink (basically a mocktail!) for our vegetarian brunch menu. We created the brunch menu with our friend Shelly from Vegetarian Ventures. We hope you might consider it to celebrate with loved ones on this Valentine’s Day, or any other occasion that calls for a special morning meal. We love this comment from reader Katie on our last brunch post: “Brunch is my favorite meal to entertain because it’s casual and usually anything goes so we can have sweet and savory all at once.” We hadn’t thought about it that way, but it’s completely true! Here’s our vegetarian brunch menu:

I make a gin cocktail really similar to this every year for Christmas Day but this looks like the perfect healthy alcohol free version! Your photographs are absolutely amazing!

  2. Katie says:

My boyfriend and I made this for Valentine’s Day, but instead used a Cava in lieu of the soda water. It was STUNNING! Also, the lovely pink/red rue was so perfect for the occasion. We will absolutely be making this again.

This looks like a delicious drink with a bit more substance than the many fruity water recipes that you find on Pinterest. I can’t wait to try it in the summer when I’m trying to wean myself off another bottle of wine. ;)
