This peach caprese salad features ripe peaches and heirloom tomatoes, creamy burrata cheese, and peppery fresh basil. It’s a little bit of heaven!
When it’s peach season, one bite into that juicy fruit and the cares of life seem to melt away (for a few seconds at least). And this recipe we hope will stop you in your tracks: peach caprese salad!
The elements in this salad all work together to make magic. First, juicy, succulent ripe peaches and vibrant red, yellow and violet tomatoes that taste like summer. Then, creamy, rich burrata cheese (or substitute fresh mozzarella). Add some peppery garden basil and crunchy, salty peanuts, and it’s one of those first bite “Whoa” moments!
Tips for peach caprese salad
This peach caprese salad is perfect as an appetizer for a summer meal on the patio, or a simple main course with some crusty bread or crackers. Here are a few notes for making the dish:
- Burrata cheese is ideal, but you can substitute fresh mozzarella. The description on the container is: “fresh mozzarella cheese filled with shreds of mozzarella soaked in cream“. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but it’s worth it for a special splurge for this peach caprese salad. If not, use fresh mozzarella which is standard in a caprese salad.
- If your diet restricts dairy, you can omit the cheese. The salad is fabulous without it; the combination of savory tomato and sweet peach is remarkable in itself. It takes a few minutes to put together, and without much effort looks completely artful on a plate.
- Peanuts are non-standard, but add a fun flair. You won’t find them on the classic Caprese salad, but crunchy peanuts add an interesting salty and crunchy element.
Where to buy burrata cheese?
Burrata cheese is becoming more readily available in grocery stores in the US. You can also check your local farmer’s market for artisan burrata cheese. Make sure to drain your burrata before using it in this peach burrata salad.
Dietary notes
This peach caprese salad is vegetarian and gluten-free.

Made this for dinner last night. So easy, and so incredibly delicious. My store was out of burrata, so I used a soft mozzarella and it turned out fine. Went to store today , windowsill is currently lined with peaches so that I can make this again.
This was the perfect summer salad on a HOT day. Subbed macadamia nuts for peanuts since that’s what I had on hand! So refreshing and beautiful enjoyed on our deck with some Michigan sparkling wine .

This salad looks fresh and delicious! I bet it would be really good with goat cheese too – I’ve never tried burrata, but I don’t discriminate too much when it comes to cheese! ;)
