    I love making crispy oven fries or homemade ice cream!! I made a backyard mint ice cream this summer that was so good! (Jeni’s recipe)

    I recently switched out mashed potatoes for mashed cauliflower and wow so yum! and the kids love it so that’s a bonus

    over at minimalist baker their is a recipe for healthier fig newtons, which are a major nostalgic comfort food for me!!

    First of all, my vote, mac & cheese is a main dish, sorry Alex.

    One of my comfort foods, made healthy, is chocolate mousse or pudding made using avocados, cocoa powder, a dash of homemade vanilla and dates. Top with a little homemade whipped cream. Chocolate comfort. The dates can be fairly high in sugar content, but no artificial ingredients.

    I think I remember when I listened to this podcast on mac & cheese that part of the reason Alex didn’t think it was a main dish was because it didn’t have a lot of protein. I just learned about this pasta: http://tolerantfoods.com/ I’ve not tried it yet, but have read lots of raving reviews and it has around 20 g of protein per serving! Love your podcast and look forward to each new episode!!
