Oh my goodness that is a beautiful stand mixer! It is definitely a life goal of mine to own one of these KitchenAid mixers, and I have so many scrumptious recipes set aside to make once I do. But if I had to choose one, it would be this Bon Appetit recipe for whiskey and rye chocolate chip cookies: http://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/whiskey-and-rye-chocolate-chip-cookies. They just look so delicious and I love the unique twist on a classic dessert. And being from Louisville which is home to bourbon, I think it would be fun to use a local ingredient as well! So I would definitely make these cookies for my family and then we would eat them the only way we know how: Still warm from the oven with a cold glass of almond milk. :)

In behalf of my italian grandma, I would make some scrumptious pasta. It is a basic thing, but homemade pasta is so delicate and totally different from what you buy in the store. My grandma always had quality equipment (including a kitchen aid) to match her quality ingrediants. This would be a great additon to my kitchen. Two things she always taught me was to use fresh garlic and real lemon juice, not the stuff out of plastic lemon. i am so grateful to her for teaching me such important things. I love your podcast and the work you put into it. I cant wait for each episode. You both make me want to move to indianapolis ;)

Honestly, I probably wouldn’t use the mixer myself, but I would give it to my lovely mother as a Christmas present! She’s always cooking for my family and whipping up scrumptious goodies like cupcakes and souffles. She has always wanted a KitchenAid but she puts myself and my siblings ahead of her own desires. This year I want to be able to give back to her and bring a little joy into her life as it has been a very difficult year for our family. Thanks for the wonderful podcast!

My mom had a KitchenAid and when I was younger, it was the best thing I ever laid my eyes on. Watching my mom move through the kitchen so effortlessly, I’ve seen her relying on her kitchenaid so many times whether she was making homemade pasta or grinding up meat or just baking in general, it had definitely inspired me to love and be in the kitchen. I love its multi-functionality, I believe its one of the most core essentials anyone can have in a kitchen (: Theres so many scrumptious recipes to make, I wouldn’t know where to begin! But first that comes to mind, would be this scrumptious German Chocolate Cookies recipe that I have. Keep up with the podcasts!

Oh my goodness, all of the heart eyes for this dreamy copper stand mixer – it would be the perfect addition to our kitchen! My husband makes the most scrumptious bread and this would definitely cut down on all of the time he spends kneading the dough. We spent a week in Naples/Amalfi Coast this summer (thanks for all of the awesome food recs on your travel blog post!) and learned how to make fresh pasta! Even though we learned to make it by hand, this mixer (I’m already dreaming of all of the attachments I’m going to buy for it!) will make it so much easier! Thanks for all of the scrumptious vegetarian recipes you post =)

When I was a little girl, before my grandma passed away, she always made the very best nut roll. She was one of those women who never used a real recipe, everything was always from memory. When she passed, we never thought we would be able to taste her nut roll again. We looked for the recipe, tried coming up with one ourselves. Nothing ever came close. Then a few years ago my aunt managed to ask the right person and she tracked that recipe down! She surprised everyone with it at Christmas. And even better, the recipe was in my grandma’s own handwriting! Every Christmas it’s become the tradition to remake my grandma’s scrumptious nut rolls. It’s a lot of work, but always so worth it. This kitchenaid mixer would make the job so much easier and I would love to use it to make such a special recipe.

GAH, that copper finish though! I am loving the fact that mixed metals are all the rage now and we are finally showing the warmer finishes some love!!! I think that putting a copper stand mixer on our old school soapstone countertops would instantly make all food cooked in it’s presence just that much more scrumptious. Does that sound crazy? Maybe it’s the amazingly November weather we are having today or the fact the holiday which truly celebrates food is TOMORROW but I’m feeling all thankful and fuzzy and needing to go make biscuits or the like, like RIGHT NOW. Love your blog, and now a new podcast listener, love that too! You guys are great. :)

What would you make with your new stand mixer?
I would make some scrumptious Romanian pastries! I grew up enjoying a spread of pastries since every family gathering or social event had platters of “prajituri,” which include multiple types of pastries arranged beautifully to showcase the baker’s skill. Anything that is that scrumptious and that pretty to look at usually is quite an involved baking process, hence I have not ventured to make them myself. My first attempt would have to be scrumptious Cornulete, a crescent shaped pastry with plum butter and walnut filling and dipped in powder sugar :). Yes, they are as good as they sound, especially fresh out of the oven and newly powdered!

Congrats on your 1 year anniversary ACOUPLECOOKS! I found your blog/podcast through listening to Gerard and Jessie over at Marriage is Funny, and I AM HOOKED (or cooked?! lol). I am getting married to my finance the beginning of January, and we love cooking together. Right now we live 45 minutes apart so when we see each other we usually spend at least a day consisting of two meals, and therefore, we spend a lot of time cooking together!! Your blog is coming in handy for dish-ideas. (So thanks!) I obviously don’t have a KitchenAid mixer of my own but I have loved using my best friend’s mama’s KitchenAid for the last 15ish years when I bake with her! She’s showed me some fun tricks with the fabulous machine including how to make zucchini noodles and potatoes slices. A goal of mine for the near future is to perfect a scrumptious lemon cheesecake! Yay for mixers to help out with that process :)

I would most certainly make many scrumptious foods, but I think I would first love to whip up a scrumptious meringue. I would continue to experiment with the mixer to make gluten free treats since I baked all the time in the past before I made the leap to being gluten free to help me avoid inflammatory foods. This has made a big difference when dealing with autoimmune disorders that are impacted by diet. A stand mixer would be so fun to use as I reintegrate baking into healthier living. My cinnamon bread making has taken a hit since my 1950’s KitchenAid motor and speed control took a dump. We live in a small rural community in Colorado that doesn’t have access to baked goods so I make my cinnamon bread and cookies to sell at our small Farmer’s Market. I also give away many baked goods to neighbors who don’t bake themselves. My gluten free and regular cinnamon bread would love to be in every household for Christmas. Thanks for your wonderful website and your generosity giving away the mixer.

For my 16th birthday, my grandmother gave me my first kitchen aid stand mixer. And unlike most 16 year olds that just got their license to drive, I completely forgot about the new (to me car) in the garage and immediately tried to bake a cake. It was decidedly NOT scrumptious, as I forgot to add the sugar. It was just butter, eggs, and flour. But of course my wonderful grandmother still ate a piece and praised my talents. Since then, I’ve gotten a lot better. I usually only forget a small ingredient like vanilla extract. Lol!! It used to bother me, but now I laugh at my absent mindedness and just don’t tell anyone about my mistakes.
However, if I were to win this mixer, I would gift it to my future grandmother in law. She barely speaks English, but every weekend she has been asking me to teach her how to make something different. We use our love for baking as a way to communicate and get to know one another. So far we’ve done pizza crust, cinnamon rolls, pancakes, and pumpkin bread. Her next wish is wedding cake.. I think that’s a subtle hint that she wants her grandson and me to get married sooner than planned. ;)
This kitchen aid would definitely be helpful as we tackle a wedding cake, and hopefully I’ll remember to add the sugar!

I found a Christmas Sandie recipe several years ago and they are always a big hit (so much that I make a double batch). Now that I have a sweet 5 month old of my own (with the most *scrumptious* cheeks you can imagine!), I can’t wait to teach him all I know of cooking and baking. Already, I keep him in my baby carrier as I cook, giving him “Cooking Lessons with Mom” along the way :) This gorgeous KitchenAid would not only look great in my kitchen, but I know my son would love to help me throw ingredients in as it mixes (and would allow me to keep my hands free while he “helps”)!

If I was to win this kitchen aid mixer I would bake my heart out with some good ol’ scrumptious European cakes. There’s one in particular that I have made a few times, it’s called Spartak, (borrowed my sister-in law’s mixer – luckily she lives next door!) and I am in the process of mastering my technique! Of course I’m always down to trying new recipes, especially with Christmas right around the corner!

This dreamboat mixer would bring all of my foodie musings to (fruit)ion. My first morning would begin with carefully crafted fig marmalade, snuggled inside a KitchenAid-curated sweet sourdough, and blanketed in a rich honey cream cheese glaze. Lunch time would bring about the pasta roller attachment I have patiently waiting in an online shopping cart; cherishing each copper-clad moment, I would gently roll out sheets of chestnut flour pasta and fluff them up into tiny pillows filled with smooth butternut squash, burrata, and thyme. A drizzle of browned butter and a few pops of pomegranate would complete my scrumptious spread. As night would fall, beetroot hummus would become the silken sheets on which I would lay a cumin rubbed cauliflower steak to bed, topped with a brussel sprout fennel salad perfumed with mint and juicy apple. If you cannot tell, I am incredibly inspired by your fresh, seasonal approach to cooking, and I would be always grateful to win such a beautiful and inspiring piece of functional art.

We were hesitant at first but once you find out how many scrumptious vegan recipes there are, are fears we’re gone! I would give this to my mother! She has an ancient kitchen aid from a friend 20 plus years ago who passed it along when it was broken and that my dad fixed for her, she just hasn’t replaced it yet although it has some odd noises that it makes. The first thing we would make is her scrumptious Sugar cookies, which is a recipe passed down from her grandmother (she has the original recipe card, and it has a couple of secret ingredients). I’ve never been able to recreate it on my own so I’ll just be the quality taste tester. :)

First of all, love the podcast and blog. I have always been interested in the kitchen, and no expert by any means, but you two have elevated my interest and skill to a whole new level. That being said, my absolute favorite food is pizza, and ever since I heard your pizza podcast, I’ve been dying to to make Alex’s pizza crust. But, I have not made home made pizza since around February. It was Valentines Day, and my wife was 4 months pregnant with our first child, we made these cute little heart shaped pizza and as we were pulling them out of the oven, we had a terrible scare that took us to the hospital. Everything ended up being alright, but it was enough of a scare, that we have not whipped up pizza at home since then. We need an excuse to make some scrumptious pizza dough in a beautiful KitchenAide mixer. Thanks for all you do!

    Cheers,

    Matt

Whoah! This mixer is the bomb. So as a newlywed, we were tempted to put a KitchenAid standing mixer on our wedding registry, but ended up skipping it. Though we went a little crazy with marble kitchen things (so gorgeous!), we ended up not registering for a KitchenAid standing mixer due to having to get all our essential stuff like plates, flatware and glassware (also gorgeous, just not as fun as a mixer!). All this to say, the copper KitchenAid would look so cute next to some of that marble, and it would be the best partner in crime this holiday season as I make sugar cookies and try my hand at scrumptious homemade bread!

When I was a kiddo, I used to go to my grandma’s house for cookie baking day, where we would make my favorite cookies: bridges. Technically, they are called krokanner cookies, and are a strip of mild sugar cookie dough baked on rounded tins in the shape of a barrel, and then frosted with a fluffy seven minute frosting variation and topped with rainbow non pareils. After we were done baking and frosting, they were stored in sealed buckets stored in the garage. Then we would sneak them whenever we could, with Grandma’s permission, of course ;)

What a beautiful kitchen tool! A scrumptious feast for the eyes! And a practical way to prepare nourishment :)
I’d be thrilled to explore the world of artisan breads with a KitchenAid gem on my counter. I just moved to Indy, and would love to learn to make a delicious chocolate cake, like the Earl’s Court Chocolate Cake, at the Cake Bake Shop too!

There are so many scrumptious recipes to make with it, it would be hard to decide. However, I adore brownies so I’m sure it would be one of the first things, if not bread dough. I like carbs. haha!

This mixer would be great for endless cake and cookie recipes, but the first thing I would make would be my family’s coffee cake. It is scrumptious and somewhat of a legend among family members and friends. I can see myself efficiently (and stylishly) making many coffee cakes to give as gifts over the holidays with this mixer.

I’ve been in love with this copper Kitchenaid mixer since I caught sight of it in Crate & Barrel. It’s just so beautiful! My life goal is to have a copper-themed kitchen (copper pots? Utensils?!). I feel like the potential upkeep will be worth it. And there are so many scrumptious recipes to be made! Because it’s almost the holidays, I think I would make peppermint marshmallows, which would be dipped in chocolate and topped with candy cane bits. Christmas classic. Thanks for the contest!
