With the turn to November, the thoughts of many Americans turn to one thing – Thanksgiving! We love the tradition of preparing a meal with seasonal foods to enjoy with loved ones. However, the tradition has somehow grown to include large amounts of butter, cream, sugar, and empty calories.
While we’re not against splurges here and there, we’ve grown so accustomed to eating nourishing, whole foods that the thought of not incorporating them into a celebration of fall’s bounty seems disappointing!
We’ve managed to work up a Thanksgiving menu that maximizes nutritional content and (unintentionally!) avoids using butter, cream or sugar. It also happens to be vegetarian and gluten free (again unintentionally!).
