Try this passion fruit margarita recipe, a fun cocktail with a luscious meld of zesty citrus, tequila, and the sweet tang of this tropical fruit!

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce* passion fruit puree
  • 1 ½ ounces tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce Cointreau (or triple sec)
  • ½ ounce fresh lime juice
  • ½ ounce simple syrup
  • Kosher salt and tajín (optional), for the rim
  • Ice, for serving (try clear ice)

Instructions

  1. Cut a notch in a lime wedge, then run the lime around the rim of a glass. Dip the edge of the rim into a plate of salt and tajín (or salt).
  2. Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and fill it with ice. Shake until cold. Strain the margarita into the glass with the salted rim.
  3. For a passion fruit margarita pitcher, stir together 1 cup passion fruit puree, 1 1/2 cups tequila, 1 cup Cointreau, 1/2 cup fresh lime juice, and 1/2 cup simple syrup. Add 3 handfuls ice and stir, then pour into glasses. 

Notes

*To convert to tablespoons, 1 ounce = 2 tablespoons.
