Description
This tomato basil mozzarella salad is all about summer’s best: ripe tomatoes, fresh cheese and peppery herbs. The flavor is out of this world.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 to 8 ripe heirloom tomatoes, of different colors and sizes
- 4 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese
- 1 handful basil leaves
- Extra-virgin olive oil
- Balsamic reduction (optional)
- Sea salt
- Fresh ground pepper
Instructions
- Slice the tomatoes and place them on a plate.
- Top with torn mozzarella cheese and basil leaves. Drizzle with extra-virgin olive oil and if desired, balsamic reduction. Top with sea salt and fresh ground pepper. Serve immediately. (Does not save well; tomatoes should not be stored refrigerated.)
