Boil the rice: Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add the rice and kosher salt. Return to a boil, then lower the heat to low and cover. Simmer for 40 to 45 minutes, until the water is fully absorbed.
Steam the rice: Remove the heat. Allow to steam, covered, for 10 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
