Our interest in food started out with a simple love of cooking and eating. Along the way, it’s started to morph into more than that.
After eating natural foods for about two years, we’ve seen a huge difference in our own lives and health. And we’ve been hearing some things lately that have made us realize that our country seems to be in the midst of a health crisis that may have something to do with our consumption of processed foods.
If what we’re hearing about the latest research is true, you may be able to affect your overall health by eating natural ingredients, with a focus on plants. It wasn’t originally our intention, but we’ve developed an interest in the nutrition side of things.
Not to be outdone by Alex’s cute childhood photos of his composting days, I did some digging and found that my interest in nutrition actually had roots in the 80’s too.
(OK, I really only made the drawing because there was a contest at school about nutrition. Does that count?)
Since I couldn’t find any other evidence of nutrition interest, I thought I’d include this one for comedic relief.
(Yeah, I rocked the 80s.)
Anyway, we hope to post at some point a little more about what we’ve been learning. If you’re interested, here’s what we’ve been reading and watching lately:

You guys have had a good influence on me in this way, although I definitely still eat the occasional non-natural foods… I am more conscious about the ingredients I cook with after reading Food Matters. Thanks again for that! :) And Sonja – adorable pics.
Aww, that is so great, Lindsay! That means a lot :)
And thanks for the comment on the pics — I assume you also rocked the 80s / early 90s styles in a similar way? :)
I think that the childhood pictures have made it clear that you two cooks were made for one another. The synergy between the nutrition drawing and the composting was only the first sign. And you both were quite the adorable little achievers…
