Did you know that every time you click a page on A Couple Cooks, you are giving money to a worthy cause?
So not only are you reading about food, you’re doing a bit of good, too! Every penny of the money generated each time you view a page is donated (and you don’t even have to click the ad!).
Our hearts have recently been moved learning about the human rights abuses that occur each day through human trafficking and modern day slavery. Through the work of people in our church community, we are starting to understand the extent of this global issue.
In that vein, we are very excited to present a new partner to receive the money from your clicks: International Justice Mission (IJM).
IJM is a Washington, DC-based human rights organization working to fight slavery and human trafficking all over the world. We’ve been impressed to learn about their strategy of working with the local public justice systems to effectively protect the poor.
Check out this New York Times article by Nicholas Kristof, who shadowed IJM on a brothel raid in India. Stories like these make us feel so blessed to be free from the oppression of human rights abuse.
We’re so excited to partner with IJM, and know that every recipe we make will do a little bit to help to fight human trafficking and slavery around the world!
Thank you again for your support – we couldn’t do this without you, our readers!
