Watermelon and Feta Salad

Watermelon and feta might seem like an unlikely combination. But it proved to be a winning one, and an excellent summer treat!

I’d been wanting to try the idea for a while, so when we stumbled across a pile of free watermelon the other day, it seemed like the perfect opportunity. The recipe is not only extremely easy, but looks beautiful on the plate. It’s the perfect effortless way to enjoy the fruit of the season, especially if you love salty and sweet combinations as much as I do.

We enjoyed the additional flavor of the rosemary in the salad, but found it to be just as good without it as well. Enjoy!

Watermelon and Feta Salad

What You Need
Watermelon (chilled)
Crumbled feta
Olive oil
Salt and pepper
Fresh rosemary (optional)

What To Do

1  Cut the watermelon into pieces.

2  Place the melon pieces on a plate, add crumbles of feta, and drizzle with olive oil.

3  Top with salt, fresh ground pepper, and fresh rosemary (if desired).

    This is my new favorite thing – feta cheese and watermelon – but I never thought about making it into a salad… I’ll have to try it! Good work guys! I enjoy reading about your food exploits!

    This has been a tradition in Syria from a long time ago. We east watermelon with anytime of white unsalted cheese (grilled haloumi works well too) and some people have it with bread too. It’s not really a salad but it works well. :)

    I love this combination. You should also try watermelon and feta wrapped in prosciutto. I once ate an entire plate of it instead of a “real” dinner!
